Launch of the Development of Maldives National Trade Facilitation Roadmap

The launch of the Development of Maldives National Trade Facilitation Roadmap is the point of departure of a six-months project with Maldives. The two main components of this project are to assist National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFC) members and relevant focal points from Maldives on the development of their National Trade Facilitation Roadmap and to train them on the use of the UNCTAD Reform Tracker, as a monitoring tool of trade facilitation reforms.

The project involves a series of on-line meetings and in-person workshops that will take place in Maldives. Participants will also be enrolled in the UNCTAD e-learning* courses “How to develop a national trade facilitation roadmap” and “How to use the UNCTAD Reform Tracker”. These courses are provided under the Empowerment Programme for National Trade Facilitation Committees.

The launch ceremony will take place on 11 July 2023. UNCTAD will present the objectives of the project and the phases and methodology of the work. The session will provide an opportunity to answer potential questions regarding the project.

This project has the financial support of both the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland acting through HM Revenue and Customs.
