This presentation will brief audiences on the latest developments in the organic and sustainable agriculture promotion projects in which UNCTAD is involved in Africa and Asia. The projects, which include the SECO-supported UN Trade Cluster and UN development account projects, seek to assist countries develop sustainable and organic agriculture in tandem with their tourism sectors. The presentation will cover recent updates such as the 6th Lao Organic Agriculture Forum held in December 2017 in Vientiane focusing on voluntary sustainability standards, as well as plans for embedding sustainable agriculture into responsible tourism strategies adopted by hospitality operators in the United Republic of Tanzania and launching a new initiative in Myanmar.
