The Ministry of Trade of Indonesia is seeking support from UNCTAD to improve the capacity of the government on managing Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) and establishing good regulatory practices (GRP) by holding a capacity building workshop for policy makers in Indonesia from 13-15 September 2019 in Bandung, Indonesia. The technical support covers two areas:
1. Technical Training on NTMs and GRP (12-14 September 2019)
The training will provide knowledge and skills required to formulate NTMs that are in line with international rules as well as to adopt good regulatory practices.
2. High Level Policy Dialogue (15 September 2019)
The meeting will be led by Minister of Coordinating Economy along with Minister of Trade and attended by Director Generals from government agencies responsible in issuing regulations related to NTMs. The Policy Dialogue aims to provide recommendation on the way forward to manage Indonesia’s NTMs, which include establishment of a National Task Force on NTMs and GRP.
