the UNCTAD TrainForTrade programme will organize, in collaboration with the Port of Marseille Fos, a high-level training on Port Management. This event is part of the French-speaking network’s activities. Thirty-four port executives from eight African countries will attend the face-to-face course, complementing the online modules they followed during the month of May. Participants will share the best practices implemented within their port communities. By the end of these two weeks of exchanges, the port managers will master all they need to disseminate this training in their respective countries: Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia.
The agenda will also include a technical tour of the Port of Marseille Fos, a visit to CMA-CGM’s general management, a tour of the Agence Française de Développement training center and a session of the Port Endeavor game, which explores solutions to sustainable port management challenges and their links to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
On this occasion, the French-speaking network of the TrainForTrade Port Management Programme will also hold its coordination meeting. This annual assembly is the opportunity to collectively define the future of this cooperation, whose successes have been accumulating for twenty-six years.
