As part of the UNCTAD’s E-Commerce and Digital Economy programme (ECDE), UNCTAD has conducted an eTrade Readiness Assessment to provide a detailed analysis of the opportunities and challenges for e-commerce development in Algeria.
UNCTAD and the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation of Algeria are co-organizing a national validation workshop of the Assessment on 20 March 2025.
This workshop will bring together key national e-commerce actors and stakeholders in order to validate its findings and recommendations across seven policy areas essential for enabling greater benefits from e-commerce. This meeting will also provide a platform for the members of the National Technical Committee on E-commerce, other government representatives, the private sector and development partners to validate the report and agree on priority actions included in the Action Matrix of the report.
The eTrade Readiness Assessment of Algeria was undertaken in close collaboration with eTrade for all and other partners, as well as the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office. It was funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the ECDE Core Donors (Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, and The Kingdom of the Netherlands).
