This requ ires us to address the multiple\, complex and interrelated processes of ri sk creation and vulnerability as well as strengthening resilience through stronger engagement across sectors\, and communities. The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction\, adopted in 2015 by all UN Member States as part of the broader 2030 agenda\, is the global blueprint for risk reducti on. With its cross-cutting nature and call for an all-of-society approach to risk it can be seen as the connecting tissue between all 2030 agreement s. Engaged science encompasses inter- and transdisciplinary approaches\, between science disciplines but also between academics and n on-academics for knowledge co-production\, mutual learning and problem-sol ving. It also encompasses the movement of open science making data and res earch results more accessible\, and of citizen science and public particip ation in data collection and analysis. Last but not least transformational change also requires the development of enabling policy and regulatory fr ameworks\, new financing approaches which break down silos and encourage c ollaboration.
