DESCRIPTION:The Research Partnership Platform on Competition and Consumer P
 rotection (RPP)\, created by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in 2010\, p
 rovides a collaborative forum to strengthen research and policy analysis o
 n competition and consumer protection. It aims to connect academics\, poli
 cymakers and practitioners to create synergies among them\, share their in
 sights and foster evidence-based policymaking.Responding to new challenges
  in consumer protectionIn its 16th edition\, the RPP will bring together l
 eading scholars and researchers to discuss consumer protection in a changi
 ng world and commemorate 40 Years of the United Nations Guidelines for Con
 sumer Protection with a view to reflect on its global impact.Latest resear
 ch on competition law and policyIn this segment of the meeting\, scholars 
 will present ongoing and recent research projects addressing key issues in
  competition law and policy\, including how to address business practices 
 of the State in markets through competition law.Linking research findings 
 to policy advice and technical assistanceThe Research Partnership Platform
  aims to contribute to UNCTAD’s broader mandate to achieve inclusive and
  sustainable development by creating synergies among scholars and practiti
 oners in exploring how competition and consumer policies can ensure that m
 arkets work for development.Participation and registrationThe meeting will
  be held in person only on 7 July 2025\, from 10:00 to 13:00 (CEST)\, in R
 oom XIX of the Palais des Nations\, back-to-back with the 9th United Natio
 ns Conference on Competition and Consumer Protection.Registration to the C
 onference is mandatory for all meeting attendees and required to be includ
 ed in the official participant list.For those unable to attend in person\,
