UNCTAD in cooperation with Business Botswana and the Ministry of Trade and Industry has organized the e-commerce training “Grow Your Business through E-commerce and Empowering Your Business Online” for Botswana entrepreneurs. The two-day training is being delivered by UNCTAD at the request of the Botswanan Government who has requested UNCTAD technical assistance to support Botswana in the implementation of its National E-commerce Strategy launched last October 2021. The National E-Commerce Strategy of Botswana aims at leveraging Botswana’s strengths while tackling the bottlenecks and challenges that impede the expansion of e-commerce in the country. The strategy lays out five strategic thrusts and recommendations for strengthening Botswana’s performance in key policy areas. This training is for all Botswana entrepreneurs who are interested in growing their business by leveraging the power of online. The e-commerce training aims to support the growth of entrepreneurship and private sector development in Botswana. The technical assistance work to develop and deliver the e-commerce training was supported by the SADC Trade Facilitation Mechanism funded by the European Union.
