The monitoring and evaluation course is part of the UNCTAD Empowerment Programme for Trade Facilitation. It aims to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation skills* of members of National Trade Facilitation Committees, providing them with the necessary knowledge to assess progress and implementation of trade facilitation reforms, identify areas for improvement, recognize implementation challenges, spot bottlenecks, and take timely corrective measures to improve outcomes.

Two editions of the course have been held in English, and this is the first edition delivered in Spanish for NTFC members from Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, and Peru. Upon successful completion of the course, NTFC members will understand the main concepts of monitoring and evaluation and their crucial role in trade facilitation. They will also learn about various planning tools, methods and approaches, the key components of a monitoring plan, and the steps required to conduct an evaluation.

The opening ceremony will introduce the course, highlighting its key components, objectives, timeline, and evaluation system, as well as the trade facilitation e-learning platform where they will complete their work. Additionally, it will present the new Reform Tracker, UNCTAD's online tool for monitoring trade facilitation reforms.
