Webinar on maximizing the developmental potential of investment facilitation through international agreements

The webinar takes place in the context of an ongoing collaboration between UNCTAD and the Government of Tanzania on the reform of the country’s international investment agreements (IIAs). It will present the key findings of a report prepared by UNCTAD reviewing the IIAs concluded by Tanzania. The event will examine global trends in IIAs and investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS) and will assess key challenges within the current IIA regime. It will also highlight UNCTAD tools to accelerate reform in support of sustainable development. Discussions will also cover emerging issues in IIAs such as investment facilitation, and how to maximize the developmental impact of the WTO IFD Agreement.
