DESCRIPTION:Transfer of technology and development: Key policy issues and r
 ecent national experiences\n\n \n\nThis course will discuss key issues re
 lated to the use of technology transfer for growth and development and pre
 sent several national experiences with the transfer of technology for indu
 strial development.\n\nThe first part of the course will review key issues
  that have a bearing on policies and strategies for the transfer of techno
 logy by developing economies to promote growth and development.\n\nThe sec
 ond part will discuss the experiences of several developing economies in A
 frica\, Asia and Latin America in using technology transfer to develop dyn
 amic domestic industries.\n\nDiscussions will be based on the work of UNCT
 AD in science\, technology and innovation policies\, including the results
  of two forthcoming UNCTAD studies on the transfer of technology for devel
 opment\; the first on general science\, technology and innovation and tech
 nology transfer issues and the second on selected case studies of technolo
 gy transfer in developing economies.\n\nThe discussion will draw on eviden
 ce gathered by the UNCTAD programme of national science\, technology and i
