DESCRIPTION:The seventieth session of the General Assembly\, held on 16 Dec
 ember 2015\, adopted resolution 70/125 which invited the Chair of the CSTD
  to establish the Working Group on Enhanced Cooperation (WGEC 2016-2018).
 \n\nThe Chair of the CSTD announced the establishment of the Working Group
  with the following composition: 22 Member States (four per regional group
 \, plus the two that have hosted the World Summit on the Information Socie
 ty)\; five representatives from the private sector\; five representatives 
 from civil society\; five representatives from the technical and academic 
 communities\; and five representatives from intergovernmental and internat
 ional organizations. For details on the membership\, please consult the No
 te on Membership of the Working Group on Enhanced Cooperation.\n\nThis mee
 ting of the Working Group is the first in a series of meetings intended to
  facilitate the reporting of the Working Group to the twenty-first session
  of the CSTD in 2018.\n\n \n\nParticipation and Registration\n\nThe onlin
 e registration is mandatory for all participants and should be completed b
 y 26 September 2016.\n\nMember States of the United Nations that are not m
 embers of the Working Group\, may attend the session as observers.\n\nRepr
 esentatives from other non-state stakeholders may attend the session as ob
 servers\, provided they are in consultative status with ECOSOC or accredit
 ed to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).\n\nRemote partic
 ipation will be made available via WebEx.\n\nAdditional information regard
