  and Policy is a standing body established under the United Nations Set of

 ementation of the Set.\n\nThe UN Set is a multilateral agreement on compet
 ition policy\, which was negotiated and adopted by General Assembly resolu
 tion 35/63 on 5 December 1980.\n\nThe Set:\n\n\nProvides a framework for i
 nternational operation and exchange of best practices\nRecognizes the deve
 lopment dimension of competition law and policy\nProvides for equitable ru
 les for the control of anti-competitive practices\n\n\nBackground and purp
 ose of the meeting\n\nIn line with the agreed conclusions adopted by the I
 ntergovernmental Group of Experts at its fifteenth session on 21 October 2
 016\, the consultations at the sixteenth session will focus on the followi
 ng topics:\n\n\n\nCapacity-building activities and technical assistance im
 plemented\n\n\nChallenges faced by young and small competition authorities
  in the design of merger control\n\n\nEnhancing international cooperation 
 in the investigation of cross-border competition cases: Tools and procedur
 es\n\n\nVoluntary peer review of the competition law and policy of Argenti
 na\n\n\n\nWritten contributions\n\nIn order to facilitate deliberations an
 d the informal exchange of experiences and best practices on the topics to
  be discussed\, member States and observers are requested to submit writte
 n contributions to the UNCTAD secretariat by Friday\, 2 June 2017.\n&lt\;p
