DESCRIPTION:​UNCTAD will be in Jamaica on 30 May – 1 June 2017 to deliv
 er a national capacity building workshop on “Climate Change Impacts and 
 Adaptation for Coastal Transport Infrastructure in the Caribbean”.\n\nTh
 e workshop is being held under the framework of UNCTAD’s UN Development 
 Account project on &quot\;Climate change impacts on coastal transport infr
 astructure in the Caribbean: Enhancing the adaptive capacity of Small Isla
 nd Developing States (SIDS)”.\n\nThe project aims to strengthen the capa
 city of policy makers\, transport planners and transport infrastructure ma
 nagers in SIDS to:\n\n(a) understand climate change impacts on coastal tra
 nsport infrastructure – in particular seaports and airports.\n\n(b) take
  appropriate adaptation response measures. \n\nThe national workshop will
  bring together relevant stakeholders and provide an opportunity to presen
 t and discuss the draft case-study of Jamaica\, as well as the draft metho
 dology for assessing climate-related impacts and adaptation options that i
 s being developed under the project. The workshop will also provide an opp
 ortunity for feedback and further input by national stakeholders.\n\nUNCTA
 D’s implementation of project activities\, including the national worksh
 op in Jamaica\, benefits from collaboration with UNEP\, UNECLAC and UNDP\,
