 and Consumer Protection

DESCRIPTION:UNCTAD created the Research Partnership Platform (RPP) in 2010 
 in order to respond to current challenges in the area of competition and c
 onsumer protection through joint research and policy analysis.\n\nUNCTAD a
 ims at contributing to the formulation of appropriate policies and legisla
 tion\, and sharing best practices for effective law enforcement and policy
  design with a view to achieve sustainable development goals.\n\nRPP is an
  initiative that brings together researchers from research institutions\, 
 universities\, competition authorities and civil society. It provides a pl
 atform where partners can undertake joint research and other activities wi
 th UNCTAD\, exchange ideas and solutions to tackle the 21th century challe
 nges in the area of competition and consumer protection.\n\nUNCTAD facilit
 ates and provides guidance on the research and analysis undertaken by rese
 archers within RPP. It aims at benefiting from research findings in its te
 chnical assistance and capacity building activities in developing countrie
 s and economies in transition.\n\nSo far\, UNCTAD has produced two joint p
 ublications under its UNCTAD Research Partnership Platform Publication Ser
 ies: Competitive neutrality and its application in selected developing cou
 ntries\, and Competition law and the State: Competition laws&#039\; prohib
 itions of anti-competitive State acts and measures.\n\nThese are available
  on UNCTAD RPP website. Currently\, there are seven ongoing projects withi
 n the RPP.\n\nRPP partners come together at the margins of the annual meet
 ing of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Polic
 y since 2010 and share their project findings and present new research pro
 posals. During this year&#039\;s RPP meeting\, we will discuss the prelimi
 nary findings of five RPP projects and hear three research undertaken by o
 ur partners on various issues related to consumer protection.\n&lt\;p&gt\;
