DESCRIPTION:\n\nServices are key to economic and human development\, as the
 y are a major contributor to output\, jobs\, investment and trade.\n\nThe 
 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development contains a number of goals and tar
 gets specific to services\, including those relating to water and sanitati
 on (Goal 6) and energy (Goal 7).\n\nThe achievement of several other goals
  and targets will be facilitated by services. For example\, improvements i
 n logistics services will contribute to the reduction of food losses under
  Goal 12.\n\nTrade in services\, which has increased steadily over the las
 t generation\, can enhance this role of services.\n\nThe sixth session of 
 the Multi-year Expert Meeting on Trade\, Services and Development\, which 
 has a focus on water and sanitation\, energy and food-related logistic ser
 vices\, will examine ways and means to facilitate and expand services trad
 e with respect to achieving the relevant Sustainable Development Goals und
 er the 2030 Agenda.\n\nBest-fit practices and policy recommendations will 
 also be explored\, including through exchanges of national and regional ex
 periences.\n\nContributions from Experts\n\nExperts are encouraged to prep
 are and submit brief papers (5-12 pages) related to the issues contained i
 n the provisional agenda. These papers will be made available at the meeti
 ng in the form and language in which they are received.\n\nPapers should b
 e sent in advance by email to: tncdb@unctad.org.\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\nmail
