DESCRIPTION:Harnessing science\, technology and innovation\, closing techno
 logy gaps and scaling up capacity-building at all levels are essential for

 arnessing science\, technology and innovation involves identifying\, acces
 sing\, adopting\, adapting\, and using a vast range of technologies.\n\nTh
 is session of the multi-year expert meeting could consider options and rec
 ommendations to:\n\n\n\nPromote effective international and national polic
 ies to harness science\, technology\, innovation and entrepreneurship as a
 n effective means of implementation of the sustainable development goals\n
 \n\nLeverage new approaches to innovation such as digitally enabled open\,
  collaborative innovation\, inclusive innovation\, social innovation and g
 rass-roots innovation\n\n\nBenefit from experiences and lessons learned fr
 om international partnerships for technological learning and development\,
  in order to promote access to technologies by developing countries\n\n\n\
 nParticipation\n\nThis meeting is open to all member States of UNCTAD. Oth
 er organizations\, including specialized agencies\, intergovernmental bodi
 es and non-governmental organizations in the general and special categorie
 s\, as well as academia\, research institutions and the private sector\, m
 ay participate as observers.\n\nContributions from Experts\n\nExperts are 
 encouraged to prepare and submit brief papers (5-12 pages) related to the 
 issues contained in the provisional agenda. These papers will be made avai
 lable at the meeting in the form and language in which they are received.\
