DESCRIPTION:This online workshop provides an opportunity to explore the rol
 e sustainable trade could take within the post-2020 global biodiversity fr
 amework and its implementation.Trade is an indirect driver of biodiversity
  loss. At the same time\, trade can be an important part of solving sustai
 nability challenges. The sustainable and legal trade of biodiversity-based
  products and services creates incentives for the sustainable use of biodi
 versity and benefit sharing\, supports cross-sectoral cooperation\, mobili
 zes resources and increases awareness for biodiversity. Trade with biodive
 rsity-based or sustainably sourced products promotes sustainable consumpti
 on and production patterns and provides long-term livelihood opportunities
  for communities which rely on natural resources. The shift to sustainable
  trade is an important transformation called for by IPBES and the Global S
 ustainable Development Report. Therefore\, trade needs to be part of\, and
  can contribute to\, the implementation of the post-2020 global biodiversi
 ty framework.This online workshop aims to convene negotiators\, but also b
 usiness representatives and other stakeholders who are actively involved o
 r interested in the development of the post-2020 global biodiversity frame
 work and in the role trade can and should play in it.To register for the o
