DESCRIPTION:Non-tariff measures (NTMs) are policy measures other than tarif
 fs that can potentially have an economic effect on international trade in 
 goods. They are increasingly shaping trade\, influencing who trades what a
 nd how much. For exporters\, importers and policymakers\, NTMs represent a
  major challenge. Though many NTMs aim primarily at protecting public heal
 th or the environment\, they also substantially affect trade through infor
 mation\, compliance and procedural costs.\n\nUnderstanding the uses and im
 plications of NTMs is essential for the formulation of effective developme
 nt strategies to meet the Sustainable Development Goals. UNCTAD and their 
 partners have been working on various research on the impacts of NTMs on t
 rade flows\, on the environment\, and on our daily lives. This webinar is 
 dedicated to cover the status-quo of our research\, to highlight what we h
 ave discovered\, and to explore what we have yet to uncovered on the topic
 . This also serves as a kick-off to an online course on Economic Analysis 
 of NTMs - which will take place on 04 October – 19 November 2021. Intere
