 zes major aspects of Africa’s trade and development challenges\, and exp
 lores policy issues of interest to African countries.\n\nIt makes policy r
 ecommendations for action by African countries themselves\, and by the int
 ernational community to overcome the development challenges that the conti
 nent faces.\n\nThe Economic Development in Africa Report 2022 will exami
 ne feasible ways to promote export diversification in African countries\, 
 and innovative mechanisms for financial services and private sector to dri
 ve incentives to divert economic activities into transformative sectors.\n
 \nObjective\n\nThe Peer Review of the forthcoming Economic Development in
  Africa Report 2022 brought together practitioners in economic\, trade an
 d financial analysis\, research scholars\, policy makers\, and subject-mat
 ter experts to review and discuss a draft of the forthcoming Report.\n\nTh
 e objective of the Peer Review is to critically assess the methodologies f
 ollowed in the Report\, and deepen the analysis contained therein\, in lig
 ht of recent scholarship. The Peer Review is undertaken as part of a compr
 ehensive effort to ensure the highest-quality and analytical rigor of the 
 final Report.\n\nParticipants in the Peer Review included the following ex
