DESCRIPTION:UNCTAD&#039\;s High Impact Initiative - Transforming4Trade - ai
 ms to help countries foster economy-wide productive capacities and achieve
  structural economic transformation.\n\nBecause systemic and structural vu
 lnerability of economies to shocks is the result of weak productive capaci
 ties and inability to produce goods and services with more value added\, t
 he programme focuses on enabling productive capacities.\n\nTransforming4Tr
 ade particularly focuses on strategic pillars for socio-economic developme
 nt (such as agriculture\, agro-processing\, manufacturing\, creative econo
 my\, and the blue economy) as well as the key drivers or enablers of growt
 h and transformation (such as energy\, ICTs\, infrastructure\, private sec
 tor and institutions).\n\nObjective\n\nThe event is devoted to a high-leve
 l exchange of views on the comprehensive approach to development through t
 he design and implementation of holistic programmes for structural economi
 c transformation.\n\nThe key objective is to re-orient development policie
 s and global partnerships towards new generation policies centered on the 
 fostering of productive capacities to kickstart structural economic transf
 ormation\, as the surest way to build socioeconomic resilience to internal
  and external shocks.\n\nThe event will be an opportunity to share success
  stories from the piloting of the approach in Angola\, as well as operatio
 nal and policy lessons learned from the development of similar programmes.
 \n\nParticipants will include senior government officials\, senior United 
 Nations officials\, representatives of development partners\, national\, r
 egional\, and international experts in the field of economic development a
 nd representatives of the private sector and civil society.\n\nRegistratio
 n information\n\nThe deadline to register for participation is 8 September
  2023.\n\nIf you have a valid UN Grounds Pass:\n\nAnyone with a valid UN G
 rounds Pass\, including members of official government delegations\, UN En
 tities\, IGOs\, media and Civil Society Representatives\, will be able to 
 access UNHQ premises on 16 -17 September without the need for additional r
