DESCRIPTION:On 24 August\, UNCTAD Trade Logistics Branch\, Division on Tech
 nology and Logistics\, organized an ad hoc expert meeting with invited exp
 erts in the area of economic research on the potential impacts of the deca
 rbonization of maritime transport.\n\nThe meeting helped UNCTAD learn abou
 t recent research and outcomes of impact assessments\, including a discuss
 ion of similarities and differences between outcomes of the recent work.\n
 \nThe discussion will help UNCTAD take informed decisions on how to approa
 ch future comprehensive impact assessments\, including possibly in collabo
 ration with the IMO. Issues discussed include time lines\, methodologies\,
  economic measures versus technical measures\, modal shift\, which impacts
  to include\, use of funds from economic measures\, et al.\n&lt\;p&gt\;On
