 uidelines.Deliberations at the eighth session of the Intergovernmental Gro
 up of Experts will focus on the following topics:Report on the implementat
 ion of the United Nations guidelines for consumer protection by member Sta
 tes and relevant stakeholders.Latest developments in legal and institution
 al frameworks: UNCTAD world consumer protection map.Reports of the working
  groups on:Consumer product safety\;Consumer protection in electronic comm
 erce\;Consumer protection and gender.Enhancing the consumer movement: Mean
 s to facilitate the development of independent consumer groups.Round table
  on protecting consumers as tourists.Impact assessment of UNCTAD voluntary
  peer reviews of consumer protection law and policy.Review of capacity-bui
 lding in and technical assistance on consumer protection law and policy.Wr
 itten contributionsIn order to facilitate the deliberations and the inform
 al exchange of experiences and best practices on the topics to be discusse
 d\, member States and observers are requested to submit written contributi
 ons to the UNCTAD secretariat by Friday\, 7 June 2024\, to allow participa
 nts to prepare for the meeting.ParticipationThis meeting is open to all me
 mber States of UNCTAD. Other organizations\, including specialized agencie
 s\, intergovernmental bodies and non-governmental organizations in the gen
 eral category\, may participate as observers.RegistrationOnline registrati
 on is mandatory for all those wishing to attend the meeting and is require
 d for inclusion in the list of participants.LogisticsThe session will be h
