DESCRIPTION:This workshop is intended to relate the concepts of productive 
 capacities and structural economic transformation to Mozambique’s develo
 pment endeavors\, including policy implications for inclusive growth and s
 ustainable development. It aims at assessing the current trends in socio-e
 conomic development of Mozambique\, progress achieved\, and challenges con
 fronted. In the session\, views will be exchanged on Mozambique’s develo
 pment vision and strategy.The event will discuss the Productive Capacities
  Index (PCI)\, which is an innovative approach applied by UN Trade and Dev
 elopment to measure and benchmark the level of development of productive c
 apacities\, and the National Productive Capacities Gap Assessment (NPCGA) 
 as the prelude for building productive capacities. It will discuss the su
 ccess stories concerned with building productive capacities and accelerati
 ng structural economic transformation and examine the level of productive 
 capacities of Mozambique with implications to national\, regional policies
  as well as international support measures.It will also examine Mozambique
 ’s comparative advantages and potential together with main challenges to
  structural transformation and productive capacities’ building and econo
 mic diversification from the sectoral perspective\, looking at the potenti
 al pillars and drivers of growth.The workshop is the first step in a NPCGA
 \, the latest project in UN Trade and Development’s long-standing progra
