DESCRIPTION:The Trade\, Gender and Development Programme and the Trade Anal
 ysis Branch will launch this online course from 17 June to 21 July 2024\, 
 over a period of five weeks. The course targets policymakers\, academics f
 rom universities and research centres\, and representatives of civil socie
 ty in developing and least developed countries involved in policy formulat
 ion and implementation\, research\, teaching\, advocacy or field work in t
 he area of trade and gender.Applicants should hold an advanced degree in E
 conomics\, Law\, Political Science\, International Relations\, Gender stud
 ies\, or related area\, as well as excellent knowledge of English. The sel
 ected participants will be exempt from the fees associated with access to 
 the course and the e-tutoring services provided.Upon completion of the cou
 rse\, participants will be able to achieve the following objectives:Look a
 t the economy from a gender perspectiveIdentify the channels through which
  trade affects women’s economic empowerment and well-being\, and the cha
 nnels through which gender inequality affects trade performance and compet
 itivenessIllustrate how trade integration has influenced gender outcomes i
 n the different economic sectorsBe familiar with the ongoing debate and ru
 lemaking on trade and gender at the multilateral\, regional and bilateral 
 levelsUnderstand NTMs and the gender-specific challenges associated with t
 hemAnalyze the gendered impacts of NTMs in the context of the digital econ
 omyBe familiar with Voluntary Sustainability Standards and their role in w
 omen&#039\;s economic empowerment in the agricultural sectorUse the knowle
 dge acquired to produce policy-oriented research and strategies that could
  be used by national and regional policymakers\, and academic papers inves
 tigating the interplay between trade and genderThe deadline for applicatio
