DESCRIPTION:The Ministerio Do Comercio E Industria (Ministry of Commerce an
 d Industry) and the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of the UN Trade 
 and Development (UNCTAD) are organizing the launch of the  eTrade Readine
 ss Assessment of Timor-Leste (eTrade Ready) on 5 June 2025.The assessment 
 emphasizes the government’s dedication to fostering digital transformati
 on. By pinpointing key challenges and opportunities\, the assessment lays 
 the groundwork for an effective National E-commerce Strategy that will enh
 ance digital capabilities\, foster economy growth and facilitate the count
 ry&#039\;s integration in the regional and global digital landscape. The l
 aunch of the eT Ready will bring together representatives of the main stak
 eholders from the public sector\, private sector and civil society as well
  as development partners.The eT Ready is the thirty-eighth such assessment
  conducted by UNCTAD. Funding was provided by the European Union\, through
  the Pacific Digital Economy Programme\, which is a joint initiative of UN
 CTAD\, UNDP and UNCDF. Financial support from other core donors to the UNC
 TAD E-commerce and Digital Economy Programme is also greatly appreciated.&
