DESCRIPTION:The Ministry of Digital Transformation\, Innovation and Moderni
 zation of the Administration of Mauritania (MTNIMA)\, with the support of 
 the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UN Trade and Development (UNC
 TAD) is leading the development of the Mauritania’s National E-commerce 
 Strategy.The development of this strategy is a key recommendation of the e
 Trade Readiness Assessment of Mauritania which was conducted by UNCTAD in 
 2023 and launched in 2024. In this context\, the MTNIMA and UNCTAD are or
 ganizing multi-stakeholder consultations on 17 and 18 June 2025 in Nouakch
 ott. Building on multi-stakeholder engagement\, the consultations aim to 
 refine the draft strategy\, with a view to making it inclusive and impactf
 ul in promoting sustainable e-commerce growth. By incorporating diverse pe
 rspectives from policymakers\, industry leaders\, academia and civil socie
 ty representatives\, the consultations will help to ensure that the strate
 gy is aligned with national priorities and global best practices. The Nat
 ional E-commerce Strategy of Mauritania is being developed with financial 
 contribution from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenar
 beit (GIZ) GmbH and the ECDE Core Donors (Australia\, Switzerland\, Sweden
 \, and The Kingdom of the Netherlands). &lt\;p&gt\;The Ministry of Digita
