 discussions on critical economic issues.As longstanding challenges persist
  and new ones emerge\, UNCTAD remains a key platform for the Group to purs
 ue substantive solutions. In this spirit\, the G77 and China ministerial m
 eeting on the sidelines of UNCTAD16 aims to adopt a ministerial declaratio
 n setting out the group’s position on the current global economic contex
 t\, the state of the multilateral system and its implications for developi
