DESCRIPTION:The 32 landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) face important s
 tructural constraints and multiple challenges that leave them vulnerable t
 o economic shocks and limit progress towards sustainable development.Growt
 h in most LLDCs has mainly been driven by the extraction and export of a l
 imited number of commodities and natural resources. Moreover\, geographic 
 conditions substantially increase transport and trade transaction costs in
  LLDCs\, undermining their export competitiveness and participation in reg
 ional and global value chains.Future international support measures in fav
 our of LLDCs should give priority to building economy-wide productive capa
 cities and ensuring structural economic transformation.OutcomeThe minister
 ial meeting of LLDCs will enable the group to come together to advocate 
 for their priorities and affirm a common vision. It is expected to result
  in the adoption of a ministerial declaration\, which will also feature as
  part of the UNCTAD16 Outcome.ParticipationThe ministerial meeting will be
  attended by ministers and high-level officials from LLDCs.Opening remark
