Angola is the seventh member State of UNCTAD and the first Portug uese-speaking country to volunteer for a peer review of consumer protectio n law and policy.The Voluntary Peer Review of Consumer Protection Law and Policy of Angola was successfully conducted under the 9th United Nations C onference on Competition and Consumer Protection on 8 July 2025\, in Genev a. It assessed the country’s institutional\, legal and enforcement frame works\, highlighted good practices and identified areas for improvement.Th e dissemination event will present the findings and recommendations of the review and initiate a dialogue with national stakeholders to support the recommendations implementation. The event will bring together representati ves from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce\, the National Institute fo r Consumer Protection\, INADEC\, other relevant Ministries and regulatory bodies\, consumer and business associations\, chambers of commerce\, acade mia\, and the media. Their engagement will be crucial in ensuring that the recommendations are positively received\, widely endorsed\, and effective ly integrated into Angola’s consumer protection framework.This exercise took place within  UNCTAD’s Technical Cooperation project on Competitio n and Consumer Protection for the African Portuguese-spesaking countries a nd Timor Leste funded by the Government of Portugal.Participants/Invitees/ Panellists:H.E. A revisão avaliou os quadros institucionais\, legais e de execução do p aís\, destacou boas práticas e identificou áreas para melhoria. O event o de divulgação apresentará as conclusões e recomendações da revisã o e iniciará um diálogo com as partes interessadas nacionais para apoiar a implementação das recomendações.O evento reunirá representantes do Ministério da Indústria e Comércio\, do Instituto Nacional de Defesa d o Consumidor\, do INADEC\, de outros ministérios e órgãos reguladores r elevantes\, associações de consumidores e empresas\, câmaras de comérc io\, instituições acadêmicas e a mídia.
