DESCRIPTION:The workshop aims to present and endorse the Sustainable Smart 
 Port (SSP) Assessment report of Tanger Med. The intended outcome is to adv
 ance the port’s energy transition and build long-term capacity for susta
 inable port development.UNCTAD conducted the assessment of Tanger Med’ S
 SP performance by applying a comprehensive methodology that examines the p
 ort’s capacity to integrate renewable energy and improve energy efficien
 cy. Developed by UNCTAD\, this methodology also identifies the main enable
 rs and barriers—political\, economic\, social\, and technological—that
  influence the port’s ability to become more sustainable and smarter.Por
 t stakeholders\, government officials and other private sector representat
 ives will review and discuss the main findings and strategic recommendatio
 ns of the Assessment report. They are also expected to agree on the next s
 teps towards implementing targeted capacity-building activities\, to be un
 dertaken after the validation workshop in the afternoon and over the follo
