DESCRIPTION:UNCTAD\, in cooperation with the Competition Authority of Alban
 ia (CAA)\, will hold a specialized training session for staff of the Compe
 tition Authority of Albania as part of the project “Fostering Competitio
 n Law and Policy and Competition Culture in Albania.” This initiative a
 ims to strengthen the technical capacities of competition law enforcers an
 d promote a deeper understanding of the benefits of competition and compet
 ition law in the Albanian market. The session will address key enforcemen
 t challenges\, including detecting cartels without direct evidence\, ident
 ifying bid rigging in public procurement\, and presenting economic evidenc
 e in court.  This activity forms part of a broader cooperation framework
  between UNCTAD and the Competition Authority of Albania\, aimed at creati
 ng an enabling environment that encourages competition among businesses an
 d reduces barriers to entry and growth for micro\, small and medium-sized 
 enterprises. The training is one of several capacity-building and advocac
 y initiatives planned under the UNCTAD–EBRD project\, which also include
 s workshops for judges\, awareness-raising campaigns for the business sect
 or\, and joint initiatives with the Consumer Protection Commission. This 
 project is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Developme
 nt (EBRD) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). [T
 he training course will be conducted in both English and Albanian.]&lt\;p&
