DESCRIPTION:In the Pact for the Future\, Member States reaffirmed the need 
 to develop and institutionalize measures of progress that complement\, or 
 go beyond\, GDP\, recognizing that “sustainable development must be purs
 ued in a balanced and integrated manner”. Member States requested the U
 nited Nations Secretary-General to establish an independent High-Level Exp
 ert Group (HLEG) to advance the work on Beyond GDP\, which was appointed o
 n 7 May 2025. This will be the second in-person meeting of the HLEG and i
 s organized by UNCTAD in partnership with the Department of Economic and S
 ocial Affairs\, the UN Development Programme and the Executive Office of t
 he Secretary-General.The HLEG released its interim progress report in Nove
 mber and now is working towards its final report that will then inform an
