  Development Account Project\, &quot\;Stronger and greener productive capa
 cities for just transitions in Caribbean Small Island Developing States&qu
 ot\;\, this workshop will discuss the current trends in socio-economic dev
 elopment of the Dominican Republic\, progress achieved and challenges enco
 untered.Views will be exchanged on the Dominican Republic’s national dev
 elopment strategy and UNCTAD’s strategy for SIDS\, with particular atten
 tion to enablers and facilitators of growth\, structural transformation an
 d economic diversification. The workshop aims to relate the concepts of p
 roductive capacities and structural economic transformation to the Dominic
 an Republic’s development endeavours\, including policy implications for
  inclusive growth and sustainable development.The session will discuss UNC
 TAD’s Productive Capacities Index (PCI)\, which is an innovative approac
 h applied by UNCTAD to measure and benchmark the level of development of p
 roductive capacities\, and the National Productive Capacities Gap Assessme
 nt as the prelude for building productive capacities.It will examine the D
 ominican Republic’s PCI and discuss the success stories of building prod
 uctive capacities and accelerating structural economic transformation.http
