SUMMARY:High-Level national policy-level workshop on fostering productive c
 apacities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for industrialisation\, 
 economic diversification\, and inclusive growth

DESCRIPTION:This national policy-level workshop aims at assessing the curre
 nt trends in socio-economic development of the Democratic Republic of the 
 Congo (DRC)\, progress achieved and challenges encountered. Views will be 
 exchanged among key stakeholders on DRC’s development vision and strateg
 y\, with particular attention to enablers and facilitators of growth\, str
 uctural transformation and economic diversification.The workshop intends t
 o relate the concepts of productive capacities and structural economic tra
 nsformation to DRC’s development endeavours\, including policy implicati
 ons for inclusive growth and sustainable development.The session will disc
 uss the Productive Capacities Index (PCI)\, which is an innovative approac
 h applied by UN Trade and Development to measure and benchmark the level o
 f development of productive capacities\, and the National Productive Capac
 ities Gap Assessment as the prelude for building productive capacities.It 
 will examine DRC&#039\;s PCI performance and discuss the success stories o
 f building productive capacities and accelerating structural economic tran
 sformation. It will also examine DRC’s comparative advantages and potent
 ial\, together with main challenges to structural transformation\, economi
 c diversification\, and productive capacities’ building\, looking at the
  proposed pillars and drivers of growth.&lt\;p&gt\;This national policy-le
