DESCRIPTION:As Timor-Leste advances the implementation of its first Competi
 tion Law\, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Trade C
 entre (ITC) are supporting the Government in strengthening institutional c
 apacity and raising awareness among key stakeholders.In this context\, a s
 eries of activities will take place as part of a joint mission from 20 to 
 26 May engaging with government representatives\, sectoral regulators and 
 local partners. The mission will include dedicated workshops held on 25–
 26 May 2026 at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Dili\, bringing to
 gether government officials\, business representatives\, consumer associat
 ions and development partners.The programme will provide a comprehensive i
 ntroduction to competition law and policy\, covering core concepts such as
  market power\, anti-competitive practices\, and institutional frameworks\
 , as well as the practical implications of Timor-Leste’s new legal regim
 e.The workshops will also highlight the role of business and consumer asso
 ciations in promoting compliance\, fostering a culture of fair competition
 \, and enhancing consumer protection—key elements for well-functioning m
 arkets and sustainable economic growth.By facilitating dialogue among publ
 ic institutions\, the private sector and civil society\, the workshops aim
  to support the effective implementation of the Competition Law and contri
 bute to a transparent\, competitive and inclusive market environment in Ti
 mor-Leste.&lt\;p&gt\;As Timor-Leste advances the implementation of its fir
