DESCRIPTION:Services trade\, supply-chain shocks and resilience: what data
  can tell policymakersThe Informal Working Group on Data for Services\, Tr
 ade and Development Policies was established following the recommendations
  of the ninth session of the Multi-Year Expert Meeting (MYEM) on Trade\, S
 ervices and Development. The Working Group seeks to identify services-trad
 e data gaps\, share good practice examples of data collection\, identify r
 elevant data sources and showcase innovative ways to use existing data for
  policymaking.The first four meetings of the Working Group focused on data
  needs and good practices in services-trade data collection and use\, incl
 uding the potential of alternative and administrative data sources. The fi
 fth meeting will build on this work by focusing on a specific policy quest
 ion: how can services-trade\, firm-level and administrative data help poli
 cymakers assess the role of services in supply-chain shocks and resilience
 \, including by identifying services that act as shock absorbers\, bottlen
 ecks or sources of dependency.The meeting will address the following guidi
 ng questions:What data sources are needed to identify services inputs that
  are critical for firm and economy-wide resilience?How can goods and servi
 ces data be linked at firm level to distinguish services as shock absorber
 s from services as bottlenecks or dependencies?How can administrative data
  reveal direct and indirect exposure to shocks?What are challenges in usin
 g administrative data for this purpose?The meeting responds to the Geneva 
 Consensus in particular paragraph 80.15 which calls on UNCTAD “to improv
 e the collection\, accessibility and use of trade in services data to info
 rm policy decisions\, to enable all\, particularly women and microenterpri
 ses and small and medium-sized enterprises\, to leverage and benefit from 
 trade in services and support the development of services-led trade export
  strategies.”The meeting also follows up on the twelfth session of the M
 YEM\, held on 15–16 April 2026\, which encouraged UNCTAD to strengthen i
 ts work on services data and analyse the effects of external shocks on sup
 ply-chain resilience through a servicification lens.The meeting aims to br
 ing together data producers\, policymakers and researchers\, and to identi
 fy practical lessons in support of member States on services-trade data an
