SUMMARY:Workshop to present and validate the Trinidad and Tobago’s nation
 al assessment: Focus on transport and logistics for sustainable and resili
 ent food supply chains

DESCRIPTION:The UNCTAD UNDA project “Harnessing trade policy and transpor
 t and logistics to build sustainable and resilient food supply chains in t
 he Caribbean and Arab region” addresses the overlapping food\, energy\, 
 and financial crises\, intensified by COVID-19\, geopolitical tensions\, c
 limate risks\, and rising debt in developing regions.Implemented jointly w
 ith UNECLAC and in collaboration with UNESCWA\, the project focuses on Bar
 bados\, Trinidad and Tobago\, Lebanon\, and Morocco. A selection of countr
 ies\, highly exposed but well positioned to strengthen food security throu
 gh improved production\, trade\, and logistics.National (Trinidad and Toba
 go) and regional (Caribbean) assessments of transport networks and logisti
 cs used for food trade have been conducted\, identifying key bottlenecks a
 nd proposing actionable recommendations to improve system resilience\, sus
 tainability\, and regional coordination. They have also identified key cap
 acity building gaps and areas for enhanced collaboration and support.Build
 ing on this work\, UNCTAD and UNECLAC\, in collaboration with the Ministry
  of Trade\, Investment and Tourism\, will hold a national validation works
 hop on 2 June 2028 in Port of Spain\, bringing together public and private
  stakeholders to review and validate findings\, prioritize recommended act
 ions and capacity building requirements. The workshop will be complemented
  by targeted stakeholder bilateral discussions facilitated by the Ministry
  of Trade\, Investment and Tourism of Trinidad and Tobago. &lt\;p&gt\;The
