First exchange of jury members among port communities in English-speaking network’s Port Training Programme

Representatives from the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, the Namibian Ports Authority and the Port of Cork served as assessors on the Dissertation Panel held in Malé, Maldives on 5–6 December 2012, marking the first exchange of jury members among the English-speaking port communities.

UNCTAD’s Human Resources Development/TrainForTrade Section and UNDP Angola sign Memorandum of Understanding

On Monday, 19 November 2012, UNCTAD’s Human Resources Development/TrainForTrade Section signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Development Programme in Angola (UNDP Angola). The Memorandum was signed in the presence of an UNCTAD representative by Mr. Samuel Harbor, UNDP Angola Country Director, and it will remain in force until June 2013.

12-week on-line training course on trade and poverty kicks off with 103 participants from 54 countries

The UNCTAD Virtual Institute kicked off its on-line course on trade and poverty yesterday, the first phase of a broader research capacity building project funded by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Government of Finland. The course will conclude on 30 November this year.
