As part of the BTFP II, UNCTAD organised a value chain analysis workshop in Indonesia for three value chains, namely rattan, natural ingredients for the personal care and food industries and ecotourism. The latter is considered as a transversal sector that will complement the activities developed in the other two value chains.
The workshop aimed to provide a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities in promoting the development of these sectors. It was also be an opportunity to identify and establish possible cooperation and synergies with on-going programmes and initiatives from government entities, as well as private and academic sectors and civil society.
