16 - 19 April 2024
Dakar
, Senegal

The UNCTAD-led eTrade for Women initiative, will host a regional masterclass for French-speaking African countries under the theme "Unleashing Potential: Women Entrepreneurs and Africa’s Digital Transformation” in partnership with Birame Sock, eTrade for Women advocate and founder and CEO of Kwely.

This event will bring together women digital entrepreneurs who are part of the digital ecosystem in French-speaking African countries.

What will the masterclass focus on?

The masterclass will comprise 4 days of training, peer-learning, and inspirational sessions as well as a policy dialogue with representatives from the government sector.

Training sessions will better equip women digital entrepreneurs with the abilities to leverage digital solutions to grow their businesses.

Inspirational sessions will allow participants to learn from and connect with more seasoned entrepreneurs from the region, to address persistent challenges such as gender biases, consumers’ lack of trust or limited access to finance.

The event will also foster linkages between participants and key government representatives at the local level. Discussions will cover the policy and regulatory environment affecting digital SMEs, and will touch upon Africa’s regional integration agenda.

After completing the masterclass, participants will be invited to join the eTrade for Women community of women entrepreneurs in francophone Africa to continue their professional and personal growth.

Who can participate?

The masterclass is open to seasoned women digital entrepreneurs from the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
