Focal Points from 23 countries and 5 African Regional Economic Communities partnering with the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Programme of UNCTAD will participate in the eTrade Capacity Building Workshop organized back-to-back with the meeting of the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE) on E-commerce and the Digital Economy (6-8 May 2024). The workshop will provide an opportunity for representatives from developing countries and regions to engage with development partners, including eTrade for all partners, in meaningful dialogue to support e-commerce policy reforms. It will facilitate a comprehensive review of the capability-building solutions provided by eTrade for all partners, including UNCTAD. Thematic sessions will also be devoted to the UNCTAD eTrade Reform Tracker, trade agreements incorporating digital-related provisions, and sustainable platforms and e-commerce marketplaces. This is the 5th capacity-building workshop organized by UNCTAD, a testament to the organization's commitment to fostering knowledge sharing, skills enhancement, and networking opportunities tailored to the needs of participants.
The workshop benefits from the support of Afreximbank and UNCTAD’s E-Commerce and Digital Economy (ECDE) programme core donors.
