
As part of Angola's National Green Export Reviews, UNCTAD will support the participation of Angolan representatives in a session exploring alternatives to carbon-intensive development, especially focused on circular economy principles in fisheries, timber and metals.
The event will cover:
- Practical examples of policies, initiatives and actions in Africa;
- Barriers and enabling measures for engaging climate action in key sectors;
- Financial instruments and regulatory frameworks;
- Advancing the implementation of climate action; and
- Economic diversification and de-carbonization through circular economy strategies
With a comprehensive programme of plenary sessions, workshops, a ministerial section, side events and exhibits, this is a one of a kind event in the region.
The Africa Carbon Forum is organized by the Nairobi Framework partners: the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) along with the UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP), the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the World Bank Group (WBG) and the Africa Development Bank (AfDB). The event is supported by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
