Results of the National Assessment of the Reporting Infrastructure in the Russian Federation were presented on 30 October 2025
On October 30, 2025, Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation hosted a high-level National Workshop co-organized in cooperation with UNCTAD to discuss results of the assessment of corporate reporting infrastructure in the country.
The National Workshop served to validate the findings of the assessment and marked the concluding phase of the technical assistance provided by UNCTAD to the Russian Federation. During the session, UNCTAD presented its Accounting Development Tool (ADT), detailing the project’s key deliverables aimed at informing the development of an Action Plan to advance the country's national financial and sustainability reporting ecosystem.
Over 40 participants from government, regulators, and professional organizations discussed the current state of reporting practices and the progress made toward strengthening the regulatory and institutional framework for high-quality financial and sustainability disclosures. The participants emphasized the importance of periodic evaluations of the reporting ecosystem, with plans to conduct the next comprehensive assessment around 2029–2030 to monitor progress in line with national policies and international standards.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to foster transparency and sustainability in corporate reporting, leveraging collaborative efforts and international best practices. Recognizing UNCTAD’s valuable support, Russian stakeholders affirmed their dedication to developing a resilient reporting environment that aligns with global standards, ongoing trends and best practices.
