The upcoming Steering Group meeting, scheduled for 12 November 2024, will bring together project partners to advance the next steps of the “Strengthening Capacity for Evidence-Based Policymaking and the Economic Resilience of CARICOM” initiative. The session will provide an opportunity to agree on the meeting agenda, address any comments on the previous meeting minutes, and review progress across both the policy and statistics components of the project.

On the policy side, participants will confirm the priority sector to be analysed and finalize the list of national focal points who will support the policy element moving forward. These decisions will help guide the analytical focus and ensure coordinated engagement with Member States.

On the statistical side, the meeting will outline the plan for countries to begin testing the TiSSTAT system, including the proposed timeframe, the identification of NSO statistical focal points and nominated IT specialists, and the delivery of an online workshop designed to support Member States throughout the testing phase. The content and timing of the workshop, along with the TiSSTAT documents to be made available to countries, will also be discussed.

The meeting will close with an opportunity for any other business and agreement on the next steps.
