
Dr. Stephen Karingi is currently the Director, Regional Integration and Trade Division of the Economic Commission for Africa. Before joining the United Nations, Dr. Karingi was a Senior Analyst and the Head of Macroeconomics Division in the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). Before KIPPRA he served as a Lecturer of Economics at Egerton University.
Dr. Karingi was a recipient of the then Zolt-Gilburne Visiting Fellowship of the International Tax Programme of the Harvard Law School in 2001 and the winner of the 2013 Alan A. Powell Award in recognition of his contribution to Global Economic Analysis issues from an African perspective. Dr. Karingi served as a member of the High-Level Board of Experts on the Future of Global Trade Governance. He is presently serving in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Trade and Industrial Development Advisory Council; and also, a member of the High-Level Group on Trade in the context of EU-Africa relations. He is in the Editorial Board of the Journal of African Trade.
Lars Karlsson is Global Head of Trade and Customs Consulting at A.P. Møller- Maersk and he is widely acknowledged as one of the most well-known and experienced customs leaders in the world, with an extensive background over three decades in customs, borders and international trade policy.
Before joining Maersk he was for ten years Managing Director and co-owner of KGH Customs Services, a 1100 people strong Pan-European expert company in the areas of Customs, borders and trade policy.
Lars Karlsson is former Director of the World Customs Organization (WCO), an international institution with 185 members countries representing 99% of world trade. WCO is a standard-setting organization for customs and borders.
Karlsson is also former (act) Director General and Deputy Director General of Swedish Customs, having served twenty-eight years in Swedish Government.
Lars Karlsson serves as Senior Advisor to Governments, international institutions and multinational companies all around the world and has acted as independent senior advisor to both EU and UK on Brexit. He leads and sits on board of several international think-tanks and research networks on customs, borders and trade and he represents Maersk in the private sector groups in a range of international organizations. He is also a member of the UK Cabinet Office Expert Advisory Group.
He is Doctor of Education (honoris causa), holds a Master in International Customs Law and Administration (University of Canberra) and academic degrees from several Universities in multiple countries. His received his leadership and management education from IMD International Institute for Management Development (CH), Cranfield School of Management (UK) and University of Uppsala (SE).
Lars Karlsson is an acknowledged speaker, author of several books and has been published in various academic journals. He has visited 174 countries and has worked in more than 130 nations in all regions of the world.

Ulla Kask is a Counsellor in the Agriculture and Commodities Division at the World Trade Organization, Secretary to the Committee in Agriculture, Special Session (negotiations), and Coordinator on Sustainability Issues.
For the past fifteen years, her work has focused on WTO agricultural negotiations, food security and environmental issues, and implementation of trading rules. Mrs. Kask also oversees the agricultural subsidy file at the WTO, including the public stockholding dossier.
Prior to that, she worked for eight years as Counsellor in the Trade Policy Review Division of the WTO, reviewing and assessing the economic realities and commercial interests of numerous WTO members across the world. Her pre-WTO experience includes work at UNCTAD in the Trade Analysis Branch, focusing on agricultural trade and development issues, as well as at UNECE on trade facilitation.
Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria is an Indian-American investor, businessperson, and philanthropist. Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria is the Executive Chairman and co-founded UpHealth a leading global digital healthcare company. Dr. Kathuria co-founded New Generation Power and currently serves as its Chairman.
Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria co-founded Ocean Biomedical which recently announced a Malaria Vaccine discovery. Dr. Kathuria ran for U.S. Senate in Illinois, becoming the first Indian-American to run for the US Senate in US history, in a race that included eventual winner, President Barack Obama.
Dr. Kathuria has also been involved in space exploration, and was the Founding Director of MirCorp, the first commercial company to privately launch and fund manned space programs.


Liva Kaugure is a Natural Resources Officer in the Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment at FAO.
She has ten years of experience specializing in climate change, environmental management, and natural resources. Since joining FAO in 2017, she has coordinated major global and regional initiatives, including the Facility for Action for Climate Empowerment to Achieve Nationally Determined Contributions, and led FAO’s engagement in UNFCCC-mandated processes related to agrifood systems transformation.
Liva’s work bridges policy, project management, and capacity development, fostering collaboration across FAO’s headquarters, regional, and country offices. She holds master’s degrees in Surveying, Planning and Land Management from Aalborg University and in Geography from the University of Latvia. Passionate about climate action and cross-sectoral cooperation, she brings strong expertise in stakeholder coordination, policy integration, and knowledge sharing for sustainable development.

Anmol Kaur Grewal is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Economics and Data Analytics at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). She holds a PhD in International Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her research explores innovation, international trade, and technology adoption.
At WIPO, she leads the management and dissemination of research on intangible investment. Prior to joining WIPO, she collaborated with several international organizations, including the OECD, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the International Trade Centre (ITC).
