
Dr. Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares is currently serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Regional Integration in the Government of Cabe Verde.
He previously assumed the positions of Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Minister of Health, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Cabo Verde in Paris, Permanent Delegate of Cabo Verde to UNESCO, Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities.
As a politician, he has been a Member of Parliament and served as Parliamentary Leader of the MpD. He has led Cape Verdean delegations in various countries and institutions, such as the UN General Assembly, the Millennium Assembly, FAO, WHO, WTO, ACP/EU, European Commission, Francophonie, UIP.
He also has experience as a lecturer. In the IX Legislature, he served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Integration, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities, and Minister of Defense.

Luz Maria de la Mora is the Director of UNCTAD's Division on International Trade and Commodities. As a former Vice-Minister for International Trade and decades of government and private sector positions, Ms. de la Mora developed a career in international trade policy, negotiation, operations, and trade promotion.
During her tenure as Vice-Minister for International Trade of Mexico from 2018 to 2022, Ms. de la Mora led Mexico's trade and investment policy, overseeing fourteen free trade agreements with 51 countries. To bolster Mexico's development, she steered discussions in the World Trade Organization, the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement, Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, and Pacific Alliance, among others. She also coordinated policy dialogues and handled private sector consultations.
Ms. de la Mora holds a PhD in Political Science from Yale University, USA, a Master's degree in International Affairs from Carleton University, Canada, and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México, Mexico.
She is fluent in English and Spanish, and proficient in French.
As manager of Nedspice’s farmer partnership programme, Christiaan emphasizes the importance of sustainable farming practices and the support for smallholder pepper farmers, to enable them to earn a fair income.
Starting as data analyst for Nedspice four years ago, Christiaan learned about the importance of research to make meaningful change in the spice supply chain. Working alongside various stakeholders and placing sustainability insights in a broader perspective is fundamental to have a positive impact.
In addition to his work for Nedspice, he is finalizing his PhD in Marine Biology at Wageningen University & Research.

Carlos de Miguel is Oficial a Cargo de la División de Desarrollo Sostenible y Asentamientos Humanos y de la División de Recursos Naturales de la CEPAL, institución en la que se desempeña desde el año 2001.
Dirige líneas de investigación sobre cambio climático, desempeño ambiental e instrumentos económicos, entre otras. Coordina las acciones de la CEPAL como Secretaría del Acuerdo Regional sobre el Acceso a la Información, la Participación Pública y el Acceso a la Justicia en Asuntos Ambientales en América Latina y el Caribe (Acuerdo de Escazú).
Economista, es Doctor en Economía por la Universidad de Valladolid (España), Magister en Economía Ambiental por la Universidad de Chile y siguió el programa de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad Católica de Tilburg (Países Bajos).
Amanda Flávio de Oliveira is a Law Professor in the undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs at the University of Brasília (UnB).
She is also a lawyer in the Brazilian Supreme Court, working especially in regulatory, competition and consumer law cases. She has published several legal articles and books on economic law in Brazil and abroad.

Rui Miguêns de Oliveira was appointed Minister of Industry and Commerce in the Government of Angola on 12 July 2023. He was previously Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Angola and Executive Vice President of Banco Keve.
Mr. de Oliveira is the founder of Banco Valor, an institution where he held, among others, the positions of Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors (2014); Vice-President of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee (2013-2014); and Chairman of the Board of Directors (2011-2013).
His academic curriculum includes courses in financial programming and policy analysis from the Bank of Portugal and the IMF Institute, as well as a course of public finance management by Harvard University, Massachusetts, United States of America.
He has a degree in Economics from the University of Havana, Cuba. It also has the courses of Reserve Management and Foreign Exchange Policy – ESADARM/FMI – Kadoma, Zimbabwe; Monetary and Foreign Exchange Operations – IMF Institute, Washington, United States of America (US); Reserve Management – First National Bank of Pretoria, South Africa, and the course of Risk Management and Analysis of Public Projects, by Duke University of North Carolina, USA.

Ms Fernanda Gomes de Paula serves as the Vice-Minister for Aquaculture of Brazil. An Associate Professor at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), she holds a bachelor's degree in Animal Science (2004) from the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT).
She earned a master's degree in Animal Science (2009) and a doctorate in Animal Science (2012), both from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). From 2003 to 2004, she was an Intern and Researcher at the Federal University of Tocantins. From 2004 to 2006, she worked as a Zootechnician at Aquicultura Fazenda São Paulo.
From 2006 until her secondment to the MPA, she served as a Professor and Researcher at the Federal University of Goiás.

Isabel De Sola Criado is currently the head of the coordination unit for the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies.
Prior to joining the UN, she was a diplomat of her home country, El Salvador, and brings experience in external affairs and partnerships for digital cooperation.
