UNCTAD is celebrating International Women's Day with the event entitled “Borderline: Women in cross-border trade". The event will be held on March 6th, between 16:30 and 17:30 at the Palais des Nations, E building, 2nd floor, in the common space at door 40. Please note that this year International Women's Day events in Geneva will be scheduled throughout the week 5-9 March.

Cross-border trade has broad women's economic empowerment, poverty alleviation and development ramifications in many developing countries. The event will provide the opportunity to screen a short documentary and to present a photo exhibit portraying women's traders and activities at selected border crossings in Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia. It will offer the opportunity for a discussion on how to move cross-border trade from subsistence to sustainability.
