Asri Pebrianti has started her career as the founder of Saung UMKM (Saung means a small place for local residents to gather).
The main target of Saung UMKM is business actors in traditional markets and focuses on human development.
Asri is a student at the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. She majored in Development studies, motivated by her interest in development issues. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics development and for her master's she sought to expand by taking development studies.
Asri also received an award from the local government for the initiation of the Saung UMKM. Asri is also an alumni of youth forum activities and one of them is the 2018 UNCTAD Youth Forum in Geneva.

Antonio M.A. Pedro was the Deputy Executive Secretary (Programme Support) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) from October 2021 to 31 July 2025 and Acting Executive Secretary of the Organization from August 2023 to October 2024, leading major workstreams and processes aimed at strengthening integrated planning and utilization of resources, and ECA’s school of thought and practice on economic transformation and sustainable development.
A mineral exploration geologist by training, Pedro has more than 40 years of broad experience of and exposure to international development issues and management at national, sub-regional, and continental levels.
Pedro spearheaded the formulation of the Africa Mining Vision (AMV) which was adopted by the African Union Summit of Heads of State and Government in February 2009. The vision advocates for “transparent, equitable and optimal exploitation of mineral resources to underpin broad-based sustainable growth and socio-economic development” in Africa, The AMV is the main blueprint for the development of the extractive sector on the continent.
He has published or led the publication of several studies, think pieces and policy papers on mineral resources policy and governance. He is a co-lead author of the IRP report “Mineral resource governance in the 21st Century: gearing extractive industries towards sustainable development”.
His research interest is focused on economic diversification, industrial policy, mineral resources policy and governance, and the intersection between mineral resources exploitation and the SDGs.
Mr Jérémie Pellet is Chief Executive Officer of Expertise France.
He was previously Deputy Director General of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), in charge of activities with local authorities, public companies, the private sector and NGOs, and coordinating strategy, communication, partnerships, research and innovation.
He was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Proparco, the AFD Group's private sector subsidiary, and Chairman of its Investment Committee.
Anu Peltola is the Director of UNCTAD Statistics, overseeing the statistical work of the UN Trade and Development. She supports countries in measuring Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators on trade, maritime transport, investment, illicit finance, South-South cooperation, and enterprise sustainability. Anu brings over 25 years of experience in official statistics at both the national and international levels. At UNCTAD, she has been involved in coordinating UN system-wide data efforts with co-leads and partners, particularly on initiatives such as beyond GDP and the cost of SDG transitions. Her team also contributes to the development of new statistics and methodologies and enhancing countries' statistical capacity in measuring trade and development. Examples include a new set of indicators on gender equality in trade and the inclusive growth index. UNCTAD's statistics are released in UNCTAD Data Hub and Data Insights always reflecting the latest data in UNCTADStat and SDG Pulse sharing the latest data-driven analysis.
Before joining UNCTAD, Anu was engaged in preparing Chief Statisticians’ meetings under the Conference of European Statisticians in UNECE and coordinated international efforts to develop guidance for instance on modernising statistical legislation and enhancing the value of official statistics. She established a new joint work stream for climate and statistical communities. Previously, she worked in Statistics Finland serving as Head of Statistics and Head of Development in short-term economic, business and household statistics.
Her Excellency Ms. Raquel Peña Rodríguez is the Vice-President of the Dominican Republic since the 16 of August 2020. The President of the country, His Excellency Mr. Luis Abinader, entrusted her with the coordination and oversight of the Healthcare Cabinet. This office is responsible for the Government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the country's vaccination plan.
Under her leadership, the Dominican Republic's National Vaccination Programme has been named as reference for the region. The coronavirus positivity rate is near 7 percent, the lethality rate is one of the lowest in the world and close to 63 percent of the target population has both doses of the vaccine. The correct handling of the Pandemic has allowed the country to reopen economically, and jobs and tourism indicators are better than pre-pandemic figures.
Ms. Peña began her professional career at an early age. She worked in her family's commercial and tobacco businesses, undertaking rotations in all operations of the companies, escalating up to holding the position of General Manager.
Without abandoning her business position, Ms. Peña joined her alma mater, Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, as an undergraduate professor. She was a sought-out instructor for management and entrepreneurship classes. As University staff, she led the International Centre for Innovation in Technology and Administration (CITAM, in Spanish) and founded the business idea incubator PUCMM-Emprende. From 2015 to 2020 she served as Vice-chancellor for Administration and Finance.
Vice-President Peña holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Quebec in Montreal. She has also pursued studies in the fields of education, business incubators, finance, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Throughout her career Ms. Peña has served on multiple Boards of Directors for non-profit organizations, chambers of commerce, free zones, community development, financial and academic institutions. She has been for many years an advocate for public policy, institutionalism, and a supporter of the democratic process long before she formally entered public service.
Ms. Peña has three beloved children, and two grandchildren.

Maria Pena is Project Officer at the Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES), The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados.
She is a project management professional with 18 years experience in implementing and managing externally funded marine resource management projects in the wider Caribbean and conducting associated project research and socio-economic monitoring at marine and coastal sites; fisheries management planning; marine protected area management effectiveness evaluation; marine resource governance; climate change adaptation and disaster risk management in fisheries and aquaculture. More recently, Maria has been involved in research on gender in small-scale fisheries and is co-coordinator of the CERMES Gender in Fisheries Team (GIFT).
Maureen Penjueli is the Coordinator for the Pacific Network on Globalisation. A Regional NGO based out of Suva, Fiji Islands that works to promote and support the right of peoples to be self-determining (politically and economically).
Maureen has over 20 years experience in the NGO world focused on environmental, social, political and economic justice issues that affect the lives of Pacific peoples and communities. PANG is involved in research and analysis to build knowledge systems to support, build capacity, empower communities and NGOs to engage policy process at the national, regional and global level to bring about transformative change.
José Raúl Perales is Deputy Director of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation where he oversees a team involved in the design and implementation of all in-country projects.
Raúl previously served as the Assistant Secretary for the Private Sector at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In this role, Perales advised the Secretary on the impact of the Department's policies, regulations, and processes on private sector companies.
Raúl has also served as the Director for the Americas at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, held roles at the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Wilson Center, and served as trade policy adviser to the government of Puerto Rico.
