Dennis Francis was elected to serve as President of the United Nations General Assembly at its seventy-eighth session, beginning his term on 5 September 2023.
He has served as the Trinidad and Tobago permanent representative to the United Nations in New York since 2021, after completing a three-year assignment as Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago National Commission for UNESCO.
Prior to his work with the United Nations, Dennis Francis had the distinction of serving as Trinidad and Tobago's longest serving ambassador.
He left the Caribbean nation's foreign service in 2016 after a 40-year career.

Valdez Franklin is the Director and President of MMG MosManiakalGaming eSport. A local pioneer of the sector within St Lucia and wider Caribbean, he has over twelve years of active work within the community. He is directly responsible for the development of the sector by the St. Lucia Ministry of Sports and Youth development and is the eSports coach at the St Lucia Sports Academy spearheaded by the Ministry of Education.
He has also established a national team endorsed by the Ministry of Sports and has implemented a youth eSport initiative.
Valdez is the founder of the Caribbean eSports Federation Alliance and has partnered with numerous eSports agencies regionally and internationally. His primary focus is the education, integration and commercialization of the eSports sector and to improve the quality of life for gamers within the region.
Doug Fraser is the Caribbean Development Bank's Head of Procurement and manages the Procurement Policy Unit within the Bank's Projects Department based in Barbados.
Doug holds an MBA in Procurement and Strategy and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
He has more than 22 years of experience as an international procurement specialist and has worked on a wide variety of procurement assignments across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas for a range of multi-lateral and bi-lateral financing institutions, foundations, NGOs and private sector clients.
He has previously been based in long term roles in Cambodia, Japan, the Philippines, the UK and Vietnam.
Mr. Nelson Freire holds a degree in management from the University of Perpignan, France, as well as a Master in Port ativities management from de same universty.
He has held various managerial positions for the Enapor S.A, the Port's Authority of Cabo Islands, wich is in charge for the administration of all 9 national ports. He is an experienced executive with a long history in the port operational area, working in multinational environments, focusing on technological innovation and the effectiveness of organizations.
He was Director Port of Palmeira on Sal Island, between 2015 and 2020, prior to joining the Port of Praia, the main port of the country.

Clovis Freire Junior is Chief of Extractive Commodities Section, of the Division on International Trade and Commodities of UNCTAD in Geneva. He is an Economist specialized in economic diversification and strategies for building productive capacities in developing countries. His work supports the structural transformation and sustainable development of commodity-dependent developing countries.
He has over 20 years of work experience in the United Nations in programmes related to commodity dependence, least developed countries, technology and innovation for development, and disaster risk reduction. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), Brazil, a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences from the University de Brasília (UnB), an MBA in Strategic Management of Information Systems from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Brazil, and a PhD in Economics from the Maastricht University, in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Gustavo Augusto Freitas de Lima is a Commissioner at the Tribunal of the Brazilian Antitrust Authority- CADE.
He has bachelor’s degrees in Law and Marine Science, a post-graduate degree in Public Law, and a master's degree in Law. Additionally, he has taken courses at Harvard Law School and Fundação Getúlio Vargas. Mr de Lima has been a civil servant for more than 20 years and a Federal Prosecutor as of 2006.
He worked as a legal assistant to the Presidency of Brazil for five years, serving as the Assistant Deputy Head of Economic Policy. He has also served as Head of the Litigation Department of the Prosecutor General of Brazil, where he coordinated litigation actions of all offices of the prosecutor general within independent federal government agencies, working directly with the Supreme Federal Court and the High Courts of the country.
Mr de Lima worked as the Chief Prosecutor at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Brazil in the city of Volta Redonda, coordinating the body’s operation in the south region of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Before, he was an officer of the Brazilian Marine Corps, held the position of lieutenant commander and carried out functions in the intelligence and telecommunications units. Moreover, Mr de Lima was once part of the Executive Board of Empresa de Planejamento e Logística, a former public enterprise linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure, and has been a professor for graduate and post-graduate courses in the fields of Administrative, Constitutional and Tax Law.

Dr Kim Friedman is a Senior Fishery Resources Officer with the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Kim leads the Resilience Team, the FishFinder program and is the Fisheries and Aquaculture Divisions focal point for Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), CITES and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
